Annual Authors Night

Tickets are now on sale for East Hampton Library’s 16th Annual Authors Night,  presented this year as a series of interactive online Zoom events, Thursday, August 6th— Sunday, August 9th. Each one-hour author event will be in the format of a conversation between the featured author and a noted interviewer, followed by a moderated question-and-answer period with the participating online audience.
 
“We’re excited to have the opportunity to translate the spirit of Authors Night to an online platform and to continue the tradition,” said Dennis Fabiszak, East Hampton Library Director. “Transforming Authors Night to a multi-day online experience will provide the Library with a dynamic new way to connect our community with the literary world.” The funds raised at Authors Night are used for essential programs and services at the Library throughout the year.

• Mike Birbiglia: The New One: Painfully True Stories from a Reluctant Dad, interviewed by Alec Baldwin
• Robert A. Caro: Working, interviewed by Douglas Brinkley
• Harlan Coben: The Boy from the Woods, interviewed by Bridget LeRoy
• Neal Gabler: Catching the Wind: Edward Kennedy and the Liberal Hour, 1932-1975, interviewed by Bob Spitz
• Steve Madden: The Cobbler: How I Disrupted an Industry, Fell From Grace, and Came Back Stronger Than Ever,
   interviewed by Stacey Griffith
• Allison Pataki: The Queen's Fortune: A Novel of Desire, Napoleon, and the Dynasty That Outlasted the Empire
• Governor George Pataki: Beyond the Great Divide: How A Nation Became A Neighborhood
   (Governor Pataki and Allison Pataki will be interviewed together, by Ken Lipper)
• Philip Rucker: A Very Stable Genius: Donald J. Trump's Testing of America, interviewed by Lynn Sherr
• J. Courtney Sullivan: Friends and Strangers: A Novel, interviewed by Zibby Owens
• Dr. Ruth K. Westheimer: Sex for Dummies, Rollercoaster Grandma, Heavenly Sex, interviewed by Patti Kenner and

Tickets: Individual event tickets are $50. Tickets are available for purchase on the event website: authorsnight.org where the complete event schedule is listed. Each author event will be presented securely via the Zoom meeting platform.
